Jeffrey D. Zwirn, CPP, CFPS, CFE, SET, FASI&T, CHPA-IV, MBAT, NFPA® 3000 (PS), President of IDS Research and Development, Incorporated has over 45 Years of Unparalleled and Specialized Education, Skill, Knowledge, Training, Experience and Peer Reviewed Credentials in the Alarm and Security Industry, he is a Nationally Recognized Subject Matter Expert, Curriculum Developer and Instructor to the Professional and Technical Communities of the Alarm and Security Industries, he is a 25 Year Active Designated Expert.

Mr. Zwirn has been involved in the security survey, need analysis, system recommendations, sales, design, installation, programming, testing, inspection, service, maintenance, and monitoring of more than five (5,000) thousand security and life safety installations; as to overall system design, application, security survey, need analysis, recommendations, installation, programming, inspection, testing, maintenance, and UL Listed Central Station Alarm Monitoring. Over 20,000 Hours Of Technical Training At Local, State, And National Seminars, Manufacturer And Association Training, Conferences, Meetings, Symposiums, And Conventions.

Mr. Zwirn was appointed by the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) and recognized by the NFPA® in the Special Expert (SE) Category, to serve as a Principal Technical Committee Panel Member for NFPA® 72 – National Fire Alarm Code® (July Of 2002 through November 2009) and for NFPA® 72 -National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code®. Mr. Zwirn was also appointed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. and currently serves as a Standard Technical Panel (STP) Member for Twenty Five (25) UL Standard Panel committees, he has been an Expert Consultant to FM Global, former Alarm Science Columnist and technical writer for Security Products & Technology News Magazine, and is the Security Science contributing technical writer for the nationally recognized and peer-reviewed Security Sales and Integration Magazine. Mr. Zwirn has submitted and received acceptance by the Committee on Sixty Seven (67) changes to NFPA® 730, The Guide for Premises Security.

As a Nationally Recognized Expert Instructor to the technical community of the alarm and security industries, Mr. Zwirn has authored security and alarm system test questions that have been accepted by The American Society for Industrial Security, ASIS International, for their highly coveted and internationally recognized Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Certification Examination; and for the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET®), for their new NICET® Fire Alarm System Certification Program-Levels I to IV. In addition and he is a NICET® Recognized Training Provider.  Mr. Zwirn has authored and developed training curriculum and written alarm and security test examinations for the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF). He has also provided consultation services to the United States Coast Guard, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Department of Corrections. Mr. Zwirn provides physical and electronic security system audits and evaluations, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) methodologies, target hardening, vulnerability assessments and uses his expert and unique methodologies to customize s advanced countermeasures in order to utilize against the criminal element.

Mr. Zwirn was the first Code Consulting Expert to the Board of Professional Certification for the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA).

Mr. Zwirn has created an educational curriculum and received approval by State Licensing Agencies to teach certified and licensed alarm contractors so that they can meet statutory licensure re-certification requirements.
