Mr. Zwirn has been involved in the security survey, need analysis, system recommendations, sales, design, installation, programming, testing, inspection, service, maintenance, and monitoring of more than three (3,000) thousand security and life safety systems for residential, commercial, industrial and governmental applications.
Mr. Zwirn was appointed by the National Fire Protection Association to serve in the Special Expert (SE) Category as a Principal Technical Committee Panel Member for NFPA 72 of the National Fire Alarm Code (July Of 2002 through November 2009), and for NFPA 72 of the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code. Mr. Zwirn was also appointed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. to serve as a Standard Technical Panel (STP) Member for twenty-two (22) UL Standard committees, he has been an Expert Consultant to FM Global, former Alarm Science Columnist and technical writer for Security Products & Technology News Magazine, and Security Science contributing technical writer for the nationally recognized and peer reviewed Security Sales and Integration Magazine. Mr. Zwirn has also submitted and received acceptance on Sixty Seven (67) Report On Committee changes to NFPA 730, The Guide for Premises Security.
As a recognized Expert instructor to the technical community of the alarm and security industries, Mr. Zwirn has authored security and alarm system test questions which have been accepted by The American Society for Industrial Security, ASIS International, for their highly coveted and internationally recognized Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Certification Examination; and by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), for their new NICET Fire Alarm System Certification Program-Levels I to IV. In addition, Mr. Zwirn has authored and developed training curriculum and written alarm and security test examinations for the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF). He has also provided consultation services to the United States Coast Guard, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Department of Corrections. Mr. Zwirn provides physical and electronic security system audits and evaluations, crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED), target hardening, vulnerability assessments and based on his expert methodologies customizes advanced countermeasures which are then utilized against the criminal element.
